Yuanbao heaved a light sigh. Did he really need to say anything?
“Let’s all put aside what we’re doing for now and hurry to find good things. We want the young master to be able to bring back the little master and the madam as soon as possible.”
“That’s right, let’s move quickly.”
Watching as Wanfeng and the others rushed off, leaving him behind, Yuanbao sighed heavily. Was it that he had thought too little, or were the others thinking too much?
“Master, Wanfeng and the others said that they can watch over this side. They want you to wait for them to gather some good things and then go find the little master and the madam to bring them back as soon as possible.” Yuanbao didn’t fully understand it, but he still conveyed Wanfeng and the others’ message to Su Yu.
“Well, that works too.”
The next day, Wanfeng arrived with several people. “Master, this box is for the madam, and this one is for the little master. These two boxes are for the madam’s family.”
“And this, I got it from Wang Gu, it’s the best medicine for injuries. You should take it with you too.”
Su Yu looked at Wanfeng speechlessly. He had even prepared medicine for injuries. He was truly grateful.
“Master, you must bring the little master back as soon as possible.”
“All right, I understand. You guys watch over things here, and for Su Jing’s side, make sure not to get anyone killed for now.” Su Yu was indeed eager to go and find his son and then bring back his future wife back home. He didn’t have time to linger here with them.
“Master, rest assured, we’ll handle things here. You go quickly.”
The next day, Su Yu rushed over with his things, riding his horse as fast as he could.
Skipping the details, when Su Yu arrived, it was already half a month later.
Back at the house, Wang Jinhe, who was busy preparing for the moving feast, had no idea that the father of her little treasure had already arrived. He not only came to snatch their son but also to take her, the mother, away.
On the day of the feast, Huang Qi also came. Seeing how precious their little master was, he couldn’t help but marvel. This was their little master, and he was so adorable.
The village chief and his wife had arrived early as well. The village chief’s wife had come to see if there was anything she could help with. As for their daughter, she refused to come. Even after being called several times, she insisted on staying at home.
“The village chief has arrived. Please have a seat.”
“Congratulations, Dagui. Your days will only get better from now on,” the village chief said with a smile as he looked at Wang Dagui.
“Thank you, Village Chief.”
The village chief’s wife struck up a conversation with Gu Shi and found that their thoughts were surprisingly similar. She felt happy and thought that she must visit more often in the future to have someone to talk to.
“Sister, the vegetables in your garden are growing so well. How do you grow them?” the village chief’s wife asked curiously as she looked at the vegetables in the garden.
The new house was right next to the old one, and after the new house was built, they had directly demolished the wall separating the two.
As for the old house, Wang Jinhe planned to demolish it as well and build something like a pavilion in its place. So it was natural for them to see the vegetables in Wang Jinhe’s garden.
“Sister, you can pick some if you like. I’ll be happy to share,” Gu Shi said with a smile. She had developed a favorable impression of the village chief’s wife as well.
“Well, I won’t be so polite then.” Sometimes, being overly polite can seem forced, and there’s really no need for it.
Everyone continued chatting, while the two little ones were caught by Wang Jingyu and taken to their room to practice writing.
Wang Jinhe prepared a sumptuous meal and then called out, “Mom and Dad, we can set the table for dinner now.”
Gu Shi and the others hurried over to help with serving the dishes.
The meal today was truly lavish, featuring nine different dishes, including chicken, duck, fish, and various meats.
“Mom, meat!” Xiao Bao pointed at the nearby meat.
Wang Jinhe picked up some meat for Xiao Bao and then for Zhang Zhilin. “Zhilin, if there’s anything specific you want to eat, just let me know, and I’ll serve it for you.”
“Thank you, Auntie.”
Everyone enjoyed the meal, and after dinner, they helped with cleaning up. They also gathered some vegetables from the garden before finally bidding farewell to their guests.
Once everyone had left, Wang Jinhe finally breathed a sigh of relief.
“They’ve finally gone.”
“It’s a good thing we didn’t invite anyone from the village; otherwise, we’d be exhausted,” Wang Jinhe sighed heavily.
Cooking for four tables of people had already been quite taxing for her. If there were more people, she might have gone on strike and refused to cook.
“Mom’s cooking is delicious,” Xiao Bao praised enthusiastically.
“Really delicious,” Zhang Zhilin nodded in agreement.
Seeing them like this, Wang Jinhe couldn’t help but laugh. “Have you two eaten sweets today or something?”
“We didn’t eat any sweets.”
Looking at their adorable expressions, Wang Jinhe suddenly felt that no matter how tiring it was, it was all worth it.
After the housewarming dinner, Wang Jinhe breathed a sigh of relief.
The next morning, they woke up to the sound of rain outside.
Seeing that it was raining, Wang Jinhe said, “It’s a good thing our house was built ahead of time. Otherwise, we would have had a tough time this year.”
“That’s true,” the old house did indeed have leaks, especially during such heavy rain. Thankfully…
Due to the rain, Big flowers and the others stayed inside the chicken coop and didn’t come out to the yard.
Wang Jinhe sat under the eaves, enjoying the lush greenery outside.
The rain had been pouring for several days before finally stopping. After two sunny days, Wang Jinhe was preparing to go to the mountains, carrying a basket on her back.
As she opened the door, she noticed an unfamiliar carriage parked outside, with Huang Qi standing nearby.
Seeing Huang Qi here, Wang Jinhe couldn’t help but be surprised. “Uncle Huang, what’s going on?”
Huang Qi looked awkward. “Jinhe, our young master wants to see you.”
“Your young master? Who is it?” For some reason, Wang Jinhe had a very bad feeling in her heart.
When a person got down from the carriage, Wang Jinhe’s expression suddenly changed. “Uncle Huang, what is the meaning of this?”
Su Yu walked up to Wang Jinhe and examined her, comparing her to their last meeting. It seemed like she had grown taller.
“It doesn’t seem like a suitable place for a conversation here,” Su Yu said, looking at Wang Jinhe.
Wang Jinhe, observing Su Yu’s attire and demeanor, realized that he was either wealthy or powerful. She instinctively tightened her grip beneath her sleeves and stared coldly at Su Yu. “If you’ve come to take Xiao Bao away, I can tell you right now, forget about it.”
“Who said I came to take Xiao Bao away?” Su Yu raised an eyebrow, looking at Wang Jinhe with a sly smile.
He clearly intended to take both mother and son away.
“Then why did you come?” Couldn’t he just disappear like he did before? Why did he suddenly reappear?
“He’s my son, and you’re his mother. What do you think I came for?” Su Yu looked at Wang Jinhe, who appeared somewhat flustered, and asked earnestly.
Wang Jinhe bit her lip. “If there’s nothing else, you can leave.”
“I can’t just leave. I won’t take our son away, but I’ll certainly acknowledge him.”
