Chapter 13: “But Weren’t We Going to Stir-fry Green Peppers?”
23.
Time seemed to stand still when I was with Dr. Wei. We walked back to the residential area and only then realized it was past nine.
“Well, I should head back now. Next time, come to my place for a meal and taste my cooking,” Dr. Wei said.
“Sure.”
Dr. Wei was going to spend a day at his hometown during this vacation, then go to another province with his parents to visit a seriously ill relative. The round trip would take three days, leaving no time for us to meet. He would be gone for a week after tonight’s departure. I felt a bit reluctant, so I followed him to the parking area.
“Are you leaving tomorrow morning?” I asked a silly question because I remembered he mentioned it on WeChat, the morning train at around ten.
Dr. Wei was always patient, and he answered seriously, “Tomorrow, the train at quarter past ten. I’ll leave for the train station around half past nine.”
“Then how will you get to the train station tomorrow? Do you want me to drop you off?”
“Taking a colleague’s car, they’re going to the airport, so they’ll give me a lift.”
“Oh, okay, take care.”
I waved goodbye to Dr. Wei. After he opened the car door, he didn’t immediately get in. Instead, he waved at me, “Come here.”
“What for?”
“I want to show you something nice.” Dr. Wei fully opened the car door, pointing to the passenger seat, “Over there, check out what I’ve just bought. Isn’t it cute?”
I leaned in to take a look, but there was nothing there.
“What is it?”
He pecked my left cheek, gently, very tenderly. The soft and fluffy touch of his lips left me frozen in place.
In that moment, my thoughts were disconnected. My brain just kept reminding me that I had been kissed. The more I thought about it, the hotter my face got, and the hotter it got, the more I dared not lift my head.
I forgot what I said afterward, and I forgot how I left. I only remembered Dr. Wei lifting my chin, his action resembling petting an animal, making me feel ticklish.
He even smiled and said, “Did my kiss leave you dazed?”
Entering the elevator, I forgot to press the floor button, so I ended up on the seventh floor and had to walk back to the fifth.
I stood outside the door, laughing, before finally unlocking it and entering.
A night of sweet dreams.
On a certain day during lunch break, I shamelessly initiated a conversation with my colleagues about celebrity gossip, and smoothly transitioned the topic to discussions about first kisses.
You guys can’t understand how much importance a solo person like me places on the first kiss!
I hope that the first time (kissing) with Dr. Wei is a flawless and beautiful experience, the kind you want not just once but multiple times, so I wanted to gather insights from my seniors’ experiences.
Colleague A: “Is it his first time? If not, he’ll surely guide you.”
Me: “Well, he had relationships back in college.”
Colleague B: “That’s fine then. These things happen naturally. When the time comes, just be close to him, don’t get nervous. Follow his lead, do what he does.”
Me: “What about the setting? We can’t just kiss in the middle of the street, right?”
Colleague C: “Do you prefer something comfortable or a bit more thrilling?”
My face turned red, and I shyly replied: “Of course, something thrilling yet comfortable.”
Colleague C, excitedly: “In that case, you two can cuddle up on the couch and watch a horror movie. When the tension builds up, you can gaze at him deeply. Remember, it has to be a passionate gaze, that kind of electrifying look that no man can resist!”
Where does the idea of watching horror movies come into play for building tension!
That evening, I used the excuse of “my parents are back in their hometown for dinner, and there’s no one at home to cook” to get an invitation to Wei Nanlin’s place for dinner.
Naturally, Dr. Wei agreed without hesitation.
He usually cooks for himself at home, and the fridge is stocked with meat and vegetables. I tried to help with my pitiful chopping skills.
Usually, my dad would give me a disgusted look and shoo me out of the kitchen during such times, but Wei Nanlin not only didn’t mind my lack of domestic skills, he patiently put an apron on me and taught me how to chop without cutting my fingers. In the end, he even praised the thick potato strips I cut, saying they’re perfect for making French fries.
Sadly, I said, “But aren’t we supposed to stir-fry the green peppers?”
“No problem, I have an oil-free air fryer that I bought earlier. I’ll make French fries for you to snack on.”
I felt that he would not only make a great psychologist but also a wonderful parent. He always seemed to be patient and understanding towards others.
Wei Nanlin’s cooking skills were impressive. He quickly cooked three side dishes and a bowl of radish and pork rib soup.
Rarely do I get to enjoy someone else’s cooking. The taste always seems better than home-cooked meals. After devouring the chicken wings, I even wiped the bottom of the plate clean and mixed the sauce with rice.
After mid-October, the weather turned noticeably cooler, and there was a small blanket placed on his living room sofa.
This is right up my alley.
We can snuggle together, lovingly and affectionately, with deep passion and sweetness, igniting a blazing fire that can’t be contained.
Speaking of the first time, is it possible without lubrication?
While he was preparing the fries, I went online to search. Most people shared that the first time is quite painful and requires lubrication to squeeze in uncomfortably.
Suddenly, I felt a tight sensation, but they also said that it becomes comfortable once inside, as long as the position is right and both partners are skilled. It’s an enjoyable experience.
In the comments section, many shared their experiences, and I read with excitement and eagerness.
Amidst the fear, there’s a faint sense of anticipation.
Being a doctor, his skills are definitely reliable.
I don’t know why I have this mindset. Perhaps his intelligence gives me a strong sense of security. I always feel like he can excel at anything.
Before long, Wei Nanlin walked out of the kitchen with a plate of fries, “Try them and see how they taste.”
“Mmm! The taste is really good.” I patted the spot next to me playfully, “Let’s watch a movie together.”
“Sure,” Wei Nanlin also grabbed a couple of fries, “What kind of movie do you want to watch?”
Thinking of my colleagues’ lecherous smiles, I shyly picked up a fry and stuffed it in my mouth, “How about something scary?”
Wei Nanlin exchanged a glance with me, and a knowing smile formed. His eyes were filled with hidden emotions, as if we were on the same page.
He then turned on the TV, skillfully navigated to the documentary channel, and found a legal program titled “Revealing the Truth Behind Unnatural Deaths.”
