This Is What They Wanted

If Ye Mo had been captured, General Mo would have stepped in without hesitation. However, since Ye Mo was safe and those who intended her harm, Yu Fengqi and Yu He, were the ones captured, he chose to stay out of it. He wasn’t a saint, and saving them would only bring more trouble for Ye Mo in the future.

General Mo knew Prince Caser and understood the main star’s throne struggle. A prince needed an heir to inherit the throne, and Prince Caser had none. Yu He, with her high fertility score, was likely captured to be sent to Prince Caser. General Mo, still haunted by his past with Ye Mo, was unwilling to let her fall into Caser’s hands, especially now that she was pregnant. But he felt no such obligation toward others; even if he intervened, Prince Caser would just find another way to capture Yu Fengqi and Yu He.

Watching quietly, General Mo focused on Ye Mo. Since changing her surname, she had grown stronger and more confident, no longer tolerating bullying. His aide had kept him informed of her recent activities, including her pregnancy and Zhang Yuming’s refusal to acknowledge it. Yan Mingxiu had been livid about her scolding on this matter, so much so that General Mo couldn’t help but wonder if the child was his. Despite his low fertility score, he knew it was possible if Ye Mo’s score was high. If she was carrying his child, he wouldn’t let her or the baby fall into someone else’s hands.

General Mo planned a genetic test once Ye Mo visited the hospital. If the child was his, then Ye Mo would be his too. Deep down, he already considered her his, bound by that fateful night.

While General Mo kept a watchful eye on Ye Mo, she watched as Yu He struggled, being dragged into a mansion. Ye Mo felt a deep sense of satisfaction—this was justice. Yu He had tormented her past self, and seeing her suffer felt just right.

Bored, Ye Mo flew around aimlessly, circling Kamo Star several times before finally heading home. General Mo, trailing her silently, was puzzled by her actions. Was she patrolling the airspace? That was his troops’ job!

Content that Ye Mo was safely home, General Mo returned to his residence. Meanwhile, Grandma Yu sat tearfully in her living room, heartbroken over the disappearance of her son, Yu Fengqi, and Yu He. She had little affection for Yu He, but losing her son was unbearable.

Upon Ye Mo’s return, Grandma Yu anxiously approached her. “Mo Mo, any news about your father?”

Ye Mo shook her head. “Grandma, General Mo is investigating. We have to trust him.” Grandma Yu’s tears flowed harder; her son was gone, and she felt powerless.

Ye Mo glanced at her, worried she might be blamed. “Those people were involved with Yu He. Who knows who they really are?”

Aunt Yu interjected angrily, “Yu He never does anything right. This all started at the school—she must have met someone there, maybe even a noble from Kamo Star.”

Turning to Grandma Yu, Aunt Yu added, “Mom, we need to rely on General Mo for answers. I know you care deeply about Mo Mo, but you always prioritize my brother. If anything happens to him, everyone else comes second.”

Grandma Yu wiped her tears. “I understand. I’ll wait for General Mo’s update.” She then turned to Ye Mo. “Mo Mo, stay home for now. If they see you, they might capture you too.”

“That’s right, Mo Mo. Don’t go out recklessly. General Mo has driven some outsiders away, but many nobles are still on this planet,” Aunt Yu sighed. “We should wait until things calm down.”

“Okay,” Ye Mo agreed.

The three women sat in silence—Aunt Yu unsure what to say, Grandma Yu deep in thought, and Ye Mo was dozing off. As dusk fell, Grandma Yu received a call from Yan Mingxiu, who informed her that Yu Fengqi and Yu He had been taken by Prince Caser from the main star.

Grandma Yu’s heart sank; she feared she might never see her son again unless she went to the main star.

“Have they gone to the main star yet?” Grandma Yu’s voice trembled.

“Not yet,” Yan Mingxiu replied. “But Yu Fengqi is undergoing treatment, and once he’s better, he’ll likely be sent there. Even General Mo can’t stop this.”

“I see.”

Yan Mingxiu continued, “I’m curious how Miss Yu He got involved with Prince Caser.” She added this because General Mo had asked her to, though she wasn’t sure why.

After the call, Grandma Yu cursed Yu He in a rage. This granddaughter had driven her to madness—failing to sell her own sister and ending up getting herself and her father captured.

Aunt Yu, who had overheard, said thoughtfully, “Mom, maybe this is exactly what my brother wanted.” Yu Fengqi was always an opportunist, and knowing his daughter was connected to Prince Caser would have pleased him.
