Chapter 362: Ding, New Position Unlocked!
Ye Wenxin sighed. Priest Wang assumed she was feeling the gravity of the situation, so he hurriedly asked, “Grandmaster, do you think we can’t control the situation?”
Priest Wang, with a serious expression, looked at Ye Wenxin, who shook her head and pointed to the talisman on the gate in the distance. “With my talisman there, it should hold for a month without issue. But this is only a temporary fix, not a permanent solution. We need to plan carefully for what comes next, but as you know, I’m also struggling to protect myself.”
Priest Wang nodded in understanding. “The Celestial Master once mentioned that you would face countless trials of love in your life, but each disaster would turn into a blessing. Grandmaster, you don’t need to worry too much. The trip to the Southern Dipper Temple will surely be smooth.”
Ye Wenxin nodded and didn’t deny the part about trials of love. But upon reflection, now that she had sort of learned the techniques from the One Short manual, would she end up like the others, destined to be incomplete in some way?
Ye Wenxin asked Priest Wang about it. He shook his head. “I don’t know, but those who learned the techniques will surely have something missing. Just like how I am destined to live a lonely life, with no one to see me off. Look at my first disciple, who lost a leg…”
Priest Wang began to speak about One Short Sect’s matters, but Ye Wenxin’s mind involuntarily drifted to Long Qingyue. She thought about the talismans Long Qingyue had studied, as well as her crippled legs.
As she carefully recalled, Ye Wenxin noticed that Long Qingyue’s talismans bore a fifty percent similarity to those Celestial Master Zhong had learned. However, it was clear that Long Qingyue had modified those ancient talisman techniques, making them more advanced.
Yet, Ye Wenxin scoured all her memories and found no connection between Long Qingyue and Celestial Master Zhong. She looked at Priest Wang in front of her, and pondered for a moment before asking, “In the past century, have there been no particularly outstanding disciples?”
Priest Wang nodded. “There are, but they’re all traveling. I’ve sent messages via carrier pigeon, but I don’t know if they will arrive in time or if they are willing to sacrifice for the sake of the world.”
Ye Wenxin listened in silence. Sacrificing oneself for others was a thing of the past. Nowadays, it was all about ‘if others do for me, then I will do for others.’ This was human nature, unchangeable, whether for ordinary people or cultivators.
But she still felt that Long Qingyue must have some connection with the One Short Sect. Otherwise, given Long Qingyue’s skills, her legs would have long since healed. If not for some external factors, she wouldn’t be paralyzed for so long.
“How about within the past fifty years? Was there anyone with a flower-related name?” Ye Wenxin wanted to mention Cuihua but felt that Long Qingyue must have changed her appearance and name. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have been able to learn techniques from Priest Wang.
“Flowers? Oh, I remember now, the name Cuihua was given by an old acquaintance!” Priest Wang fell into a reverie, recalling a plain-looking woman he met many years ago. He remembered her well, but she only stayed at the sect for half a year, and he recorded her as a registered disciple.
“Did she say why Cuihua?” Ye Wenxin’s expression grew excited. She had been chasing Long Qingyue’s growth story all these years, and now she finally caught a clue.
“Let me think… She said something like, ‘A simple name will lead to a long life.’ Then she pointed at the flowers blooming at that time and said it was the season for them to bloom, so I gave Cuihua the name.” As Priest Wang recounted that distant memory, he saw Ye Wenxin’s excited expression, yet he didn’t understand what got her so excited.
“What’s the matter, Grandmaster?”
Ye Wenxin just shook her head, yet she was unable to hide the smile on her lips. “It’s nothing; I just think the name Cuihua is really beautiful.”
“Hahaha, you think so too? By the way, I’m planning to find a good match for Cuihua. Grandmaster, do you have anyone suitable in mind?” Priest Wang’s love for this granddaughter was beyond words. Ye Wenxin could just imagine how furious Wang Cuihua would be, if she knew Priest Wang was secretly matchmaking for her.
But that was just how elders were, so Ye Wenxin didn’t say much and let the matter between the grandfather and granddaughter run its course.
As night deepened, Ye Wenxin, being a guest, retired early along with Gu Xiangsi and Hei Haowen. They stayed in a tent, and Ye Wenxin had the most luxurious one to herself. She felt a bit embarrassed but didn’t refuse.
After all, the sight of the Yin-Yang Ghosts feeding was something no one should witness.
“Alright, you can come out and eat now,” Ye Wenxin called to the Yin-Yang Ghosts after removing her outer garments. Two figures appeared, one red and one green, and Ghost Mother immediately sat in Ye Wenxin’s lap. She wrapped her arms around her neck and brought her lips close, absorbing Yin energy through a kiss.
Sword Ghost seemed somewhat envious but remained gentle, leaning against Ye Wenxin and taking small sips of Yin energy. With this new position, Ye Wenxin felt herself go weak from the absorption. Although she was already used to Ghost Mother’s novel way of feeding, her body still reacted honestly.
Ghost Mother finished quickly and let go contentedly. She nuzzled Ye Wenxin’s arm with her ghost horns, seemingly intent on resting with her tonight. Sword Ghost continued to take small sips, eyes fixed on Ye Wenxin, longing to be as bold as Ghost Mother, yet unable to achieve it.
Ye Wenxin took the liberty to pull Sword Ghost into her arms, then gently leaned in and said softly, “Come, feed.”
Encouraged, Sword Ghost finally acted more boldly. She impatiently wrapped her arms around Ye Wenxin’s neck, then began to absorb the Yin energy from Ye Wenxin’s body.
Although inexperienced, Sword Ghost seemed eager to please Ye Wenxin. Her cool little tongue darted out, making Ye Wenxin pause for a moment. Sword Ghost shrank back in fear, thinking she had done something wrong, only to feel her tongue get caught. Ye Wenxin held Sword Ghost tightly, more like she was simply seeking pleasure, rather than giving Yin energy.
Sword Ghost panicked, not understanding what she had done to change Ye Wenxin’s attitude. She struggled passively, while Ye Wenxin, seemingly unaware of her own intensity, lightly licked Sword Ghost’s ghost horns. Sword Ghost shivered, and completely lost her will to resist. Ye Wenxin quickly stripped her, then carefully examined her body.
“These actually come off? I thought your clothes were part of your body?” Ye Wenxin observed Sword Ghost’s body like a curious child, and noticed a sun-like mark below her right collarbone.
If her guess was correct, this birthmark indicated that Sword Ghost’s body contained a Yang Pearl.
