Saving Cannon Fodders with the Villain
Saving Cannon Fodders with the Villain Chapter 17.2

“Oh my god!” Diane’s face turned pale as she listened to Zheng Wei’s speculation, shaking her head repeatedly. “I feel like I’m going to be sick.”

The others also had looks of disbelief. Growing up in normal families, they simply couldn’t imagine that there could still be fathers like Mr. Hersman in the world.

Among them, Martin and Allen had the most intense reactions.

“This bastard!” Martin punched the pile of notes, his expression full of anger.

Because of his mother, he had held a grudge against his grandmother whom he had never met. But now, all that resentment had turned into a rage that he didn’t know how to vent.

Martin was already a person with a strong sense of justice. If he saw something like what was written on the notes, even if it had nothing to do with him, he couldn’t help but curse. Moreover, this despicable thing had happened to his own family, indirectly causing his mother to live like an orphan.

He clenched his fists, his eyes widened with anger, wishing he could travel through time and space and beat Mr. Hersman, who didn’t deserve to be a father, mercilessly.

But Mr. Hersman had long since died, and Martin couldn’t do anything about it, which made him even more angry.

He gritted his teeth and ran out of the study, straight to the second floor. Martin needed to vent his emotions.

“Martin!” Diane hurriedly followed him.

The remaining few looked at each other and also followed. Zheng Wei was about to go over and see, but he noticed that Allen was standing in the room without moving.

Zheng Wei saw Allen standing in front of the table, looking down at the photos and notes on the table, with a very unpleasant expression on his face, as if he had fallen into some bad memories. The muscles on his face were tightly stretched, and he was holding the edge of the table, apparently trying to endure something.

Allen has always had a gentle personality. Zheng Wei has never seen him so visibly angry and hateful before like he is now. Martin’s reaction is understandable, but Allen’s current behavior leaves Zheng Wei puzzled.

“Allen.” Zheng Wei couldn’t help but stop and look at him with some concern.

Zheng Wei’s voice brought Allen back to his senses, and he took a deep breath. He smiled at Zheng Wei, indicating that he was okay and not to worry. But his expression was not as he said.

But before Zheng Wei could continue to ask, Allen looked up and said something.

“I need to go outside for some fresh air.” Without waiting for Zheng Wei’s reply, he quickly walked out.

Jin and Ellie were in the living room, discussing whether or not to go upstairs as well. Allen strode past them, opened the front door, and left the house. They were left staring at Allen’s back, wondering what had happened.

“What’s wrong with Allen?” Ellie asked Zheng Wei as he followed him outside.

“I don’t know.” Zheng Wei thought for a moment before saying.

Since Zheng Wei came to this world, Allen has been the one who has taken care of him the most. He felt like an older brother to Zheng Wei. Thinking about Allen’s expression just now, Zheng Wei felt a little worried.

“I’ll go follow him.” He thought for a moment and said, “Jin, you and Ellie stay here and keep an eye on Martin. He must be feeling terrible right now.”

Jin and Ellie nodded, and Zheng Wei ran out.

Besides Martin’s grandmother’s farm was a dense forest, with a small river winding through the outskirts of the farm.

As soon as Zheng Wei stepped out, he saw Allen walking along the small river on the left side of the farm towards the forest behind the house.

“Allen!” Zheng Wei ran towards him.

Upon hearing Zheng Wei’s voice, Allen stopped in his tracks. He turned around to face Zheng Wei, and his face, which was facing away from the sun, appeared somewhat gloomy. Zheng Wei saw that his eyes were slightly red, but he didn’t know if it was because he was sad or angry.

“Allen,” Zheng Wei ran up to him, “where are you going?”

“Just walking around,” Allen turned around and continued walking. He lowered his head and kicked a small stone under his feet. “The room is too stuffy, I need to go somewhere more open to get some fresh air.”

His expression had already calmed down a lot, but Zheng Wei still sensed that he was not happy at the moment.

“Well, then let me walk with you,” Zheng Wei smiled and followed him.

Allen didn’t say yes or no, and the two of them just walked one after the other, neither of them saying a word.

Ever since seeing those notes, Allen had been feeling uneasy. Zheng Wei felt that he had something on his mind, and it wasn’t something good. Zheng Wei wanted to comfort him but didn’t know how to start.

They walked in silence for a while. Zheng Wei didn’t know how long they had been walking, but when he turned around to look, the house they lived in had become a small dot in the distance.

Going on like this wasn’t a solution, Zheng Wei thought to himself. He looked at Allen in front of him, thinking about what to say to break this uncomfortable silence.

Just as Zheng Wei was racking his brain for a topic, Allen suddenly stopped in his tracks.
