Chapter 48.1

According to Juno’s story, that stupid nobleman was Bavarian. After that escapade, he came to my house, together with his meek looking men and started yelling about something. 

I guess it was a good thing I couldn’t understand a word he said otherwise, I’d be apologizing to him as he shouted. Then after saying ‘sorry’ in Lancaster language, I offered 5 gold coins to him but he looked like he wanted more so I offered him 10 gold coins instead. 

By doing that, I turned him mood for the better and so, he went back to Resta. I could stop a nobleman from glaring at me with just 10 gold coins, it was a small price to pay. In fact, I actually offered 5 gold coins at first before adding another 5 deliberately. It was a trade technique to see if you should raise your price or not based on the other party’s reaction.

Dearest idiot nobleman-sama. Please do not come here ever again. You’re making me less and less inclined to move into Resta.

In addition, the other adventurers who were recruited by that stupid nobleman were also got scolded harshly. How outrageous. Well, it had nothing to do with me though. 

After that, Margo and Juno went back to town.

The next morning. I was in a good mood because of the plants from my previous foraging I had planted in my garden. It was a plant with deep blue leaves the shape of a spade. Even if I appraised it, appraisal would only tell me it was a ‘plant’ without any additional information. The only thing I could do to know its utility was to try to eat it.

I held a bottle of paruna antidote in my left hand, mustered up my resolve and then ate the blue leaf.

Hm…..Not good. My body is becoming numb. 

I hastily drank the paruna antidote. But, the numbness didn’t get better in the slightest. And so, I collapsed on the spot just like that. I was still conscious but my body was so numb I couldn’t even move. Worried about me, Ash kept on nudging my right foot.

After being paralyzed for 6 hours, I was finally able to move. There weren’t any particular abnormalities in my body. If I had to say something then I guess I was feeling hungry because I had to skip lunch.

Then I appraised the plant I had eaten.

【Gleene Anesthesia Plant: A plant with a powerful anesthetic effect. The anesthetic effect can’t be treated with an antidote.】

It was an anesthetic. This could be used for medicinal purposes or when I wanted to hunt some meat. I immediately boiled the gleene anesthesia plant and planned on smearing the end result, which was ‘gleene anesthetic’, onto the ankle snare trap I had installed around my house. 

When I went out of my house, I saw a wild boar got caught in the ankle snare trap. I killed it with my sword and decided to have a pork nabe today.

By using gleene anesthetic on the ankle snare trap, I could paralyze the trapped monster. The meat wouldn’t get poisoned so it would still be edible. I also applied the anesthetic on some of the arrowheads. I coiled the arrowheads in plastic tape so I could separate them from the poison arrows.

I drained the blood and dismantled the wild boar. After that, I boiled the meat together with some herbs, garlic and salt. The pork nabe was so delicious. Ash was also eating the pork nabe happily.

T/N: I guess in a sense the paralyzing effect is the same as being injected by anesthetic, huh?
