The object is still in his mother’s womb
The object is still in his mother’s womb – Chapter 4

That night, Luoqiu didn’t return home.

She had too much to drink, so she slept in Yang Zhi Xia’s private room until she woke up the next day around noon.

Her phone was full of missed calls.

Yin Yin had an accident.

She had fallen down the stairs accidentally last night, hit her head, and was rushed to the hospital. She had just regained consciousness.

Luoqiu and Yang Zhi Xia exchanged glances and immediately rushed to the hospital.

In the hospital, Yin Yin’s mother and Yang’s mother were comforting her, her head wrapped in bandages. Yin Yin’s father and Yang’s father, the two grown men, had already gone to the company.

Yang Yi sat on a bench outside the hospital room with his elbows on his thighs, holding his head, looking very dejected.

“How is Xiaoyin? Is she seriously injured?” Yang Zhi Xia inquired.

She had taken a quick shower before coming, washing off the smell of alcohol from her body. However, time was short, and she hadn’t had enough time to dry her hair completely.

Luoqiu was in a similar state.

Yang Yi raised his head and looked at the two of them, his eyes heavy. “She hit her head and has amnesia.”

Luoqiu was surprised.

  Amnesia?

For some reason, she suddenly had a bad feeling.

Her premonition turned into reality when she saw Yin Yin.

With just one glance, she noticed that the Yin Yin surrounded by her mother and Yang’s mother was different, like a completely different person.

In terms of both feelings and appearance, she seemed to have changed.

Yin Yin’s mother saw the two of them, and the warm and kind expression she had just shown to Yin Yin turned cold in an instant.

These two people didn’t return home all night, and they couldn’t be found in an emergency!

“Don’t recognize?  This is your older sister, Yin Luoqiu, and the other is Yang Zhi Xia, Aunt Yang’s daughter,” she introduced quietly, looking at Yin Yin as if she were looking at a fragile porcelain doll.

And indeed, she looked like a porcelain doll.

Last night, in the middle of the night, Yin Yin’s mother heard a loud noise in her sleep, and when she got up, she saw her younger daughter lying below the stairs, bleeding from her head, and she didn’t know if she was dead or alive.

It really scared her!

Three years ago, when Xiaoyin knelt in front of Luoqiu, her head was bleeding, and the image flashed through her mind. She couldn’t help but shudder, but her husband reacted quickly and immediately called an ambulance.

Luoqiu had a thought. When Yin Yin’s mother introduced them just now, she saw a flash of disdain and dislike in Yin Yin’s eyes.

In the past, the way she looked at her was only with dislike, not disdain.

Had she really lost her memory?

Then why did she seem to know who she was?

Yin Yin looked curious and unfamiliar, even grabbing her mother’s hand, showing some fear and wariness.

“Mother, I’m hungry.”

She coquettishly whined.

Yin Yin had never addressed her mother as “母亲” but as “妈妈.” Sometimes, just to annoy Luoqiu, she would even call her “my good mommy” when talking to her on the phone.

Yin Yin always used an affectionate and sweet tone when addressing her mother.

But today, she actually used “母亲,” sounding distant and polite.

Could she have truly lost her memory?

Luoqiu couldn’t be sure what was happening.

Yin’s mother glanced at her older daughter with annoyance. She knew what she and Zhi Xia were up to last night—most likely drinking and fooling around with men. Coming home so late had left her feeling uncomfortable.

She was just back from abroad, and she was already ignoring her family. Did she no longer consider them her own? Or did she hold a grudge against them for forcing her to leave with Yin Yin back then?

Luoqiu sensed her mother’s fleeting displeasure but didn’t dwell on it. Her attention was entirely focused on this “sister” now.

Just a moment ago, she overheard “sister” having a conversation with a mechanical voice.

“System, is this sister in this body—Yin Luoqiu—the female lead in this world?”

“Yes, please, host, take the place of the female lead and quickly conquer the male lead and supporting male characters.”

“Understood, didn’t I perform well in the previous ancient world?”

“Please continue to excel, host.”

“I understand, I understand. Seducing men—that’s my specialty. It’s not a difficult task….”

Luoqiu glanced at her sister, who was playfully asking for food from their mother and Yang’s mother, her expression slightly distorted but quickly returning to normal.

With her memories of her past life and her unique situation, Luoqiu had a high tolerance for her sister’s “abnormalities.”

Her sister had been transported into a novel, and it seemed like she was controlled by a host with a conquest system.

Thanks to her exposure to novels and movies, Luoqiu could quickly piece together what was happening.

While she was lost in thought, her sleeve was gently tugged.

Luoqiu snapped back to reality and realised that everyone in the hospital room was looking at her.

Her mother was dissatisfied. “Your sister was talking to you!”

Yin Yin’s eyes glistened with tears; her big, innocent eyes made anyone’s heart melt.

Even Yang Zhi Xia, who usually didn’t like her, couldn’t help but speak up for her, sounding somewhat resentful.

“What are you thinking about? Your sister just asked if you’ve eaten.”

Luoqiu felt a pang of unease. Something about the situation felt off. In just a short while, her sister seemed to have become more beautiful, like a cute little bunny that one couldn’t help but want to hold and pamper.

“Not yet. Zhi Xia and I are going to grab something to eat and then come back.”

She raised an eyebrow and, regardless of their reactions, immediately pulled Yang Zhi Xia out of the room.

It was only when they were quite far from the hospital that Luoqiu finally stopped walking.

Yang Zhi Xia, who had been pulled along at such a fast pace, was out of breath. “Didn’t we just eat?”

She wasn’t about to upset her stomach. They had already eaten before coming here. So why had Luoqiu lied?

Seeing Luoqiu’s pale face and sensing that something was seriously wrong, Yang Zhi Xia couldn’t help but ask, “What’s going on? Why are you acting this way?”

Luoqiu stared into Yang Zhi Xia’s eyes, trying to confirm something. “Did you notice anything strange in the hospital room just now?”

She had overheard Yin Yin’s conversation with the system, hadn’t she? Had she noticed something odd about Yin Yin?

Yang Zhi Xia nodded and rubbed her chin. “Yes, it did seem a bit strange.”

“That’s right! You noticed it too!” Luoqiu exclaimed.

It wasn’t just her imagination.

“It was strange, indeed. Xiao Yi didn’t chase after you. Could there be some connection between your sister falling down the stairs and him? Maybe she felt guilty, so she was waiting by the door? Also, I suspect she didn’t really lose her memory. It’s not like a TV drama where you hit your head and instantly have amnesia. That’s just too bizarre…”

Luoqiu was disappointed; she wanted to talk about something else.

“It’s not that. Don’t you think Yin Yin looks different now? Like she’s become a different person. Her eyes! Yes, her eyes! Suddenly, they’re big and round, and she even has double eyelids now. She used to have small, single eyelids!”

“Uh, now that you mention it, she does seem different. I didn’t notice it until you pointed it out. Her eyes are really beautiful.”

Yang Zhi Xia realises it now.

Compared to Luoqiu, who had spent most of her time abroad, Yang Zhi Xia had seen Yin Yin more frequently.

“Could she have had plastic surgery? No, that’s impossible! Surgery requires a recovery period. If she had surgery, I would have known…”

Yang Zhi Xia paused, suddenly understanding why Luoqiu was so shocked.

It was as if someone had snapped their fingers in her mind, and she suddenly remembered.

“Just now, in the hospital room, I suddenly felt that Yin Yin was very cute and pitiable. I thought not answering her questions was a grave sin and that I should dislike you… I must be going crazy…”

She stammered, her voice trembling with shock.

For her, who had never really thought highly of Yin Yin, to suddenly feel this way was beyond strange.

Despite their parents’ attempts to put on a good facade in front of Luoqiu, she had never hidden her coldness towards Yin Yin.

She didn’t like Yin Yin at all.

She was too selfish, not only monopolising their parents and not allowing Luoqiu to compete for their affection but also claiming Yang Zhi Xia’s parents and younger brother, keeping her from getting too close to them. She was incredibly possessive.

However, speaking of looks, Yin Yin wasn’t very attractive. Among the four of them—Xiao Yin, her, Luoqiu, and Xiao Yi—in the same generation, Yin Yin was always the unremarkable ugly duckling. At best, she was delicate but couldn’t be considered particularly beautiful.

She even thought she had a unique style and considered herself a beauty.

Well, the style of being a plain, innocent flower could also be considered unique.

“I must be going crazy!” Yang Zhi Xia shivered and smacked herself on the forehead.

She couldn’t believe she had thought Yin Yin, who was so scheming, was good-looking and likeable!

“I… I must have seen a ghost!”

Yang Zhi Xia was really unnerved. She had always been terrified of ghosts, and hearing about them would keep her up for days as a child!

Luoqiu agreed, “You definitely saw a ghost.”

If what she had heard earlier was correct, Yin Yin was indeed possessed! By something unknown that had crossed over! So saying she saw a ghost wasn’t wrong at all!

Yang Zhi Xia looked bewildered. “Please don’t scare me.”

She was extremely afraid of ghosts. She used to be so scared of ghost stories that she couldn’t sleep for several days at a time when she was younger!

Luoqiu became serious, with no hint of joking in her expression. “Tell me, if I were the heroine in a novel, who would be the male lead and the supporting male character?”

She was curious about who Yin Yin’s targets for romance would be.

Wasn’t this conversation jumping all over the place? Yang Zhi Xia wore an expression of speechlessness. “Weren’t you talking about your sister just now?”

Why had they suddenly started discussing her as the heroine?

They weren’t teenagers with Chuunibyou syndrome anymore, for goodness’ sake!

“Okay, if you’re really the heroine, then the male lead and supporting male character would be the men around you. For example, my brother, your ex-boyfriend, and, oh right, that guy from last night might also be possible…”

Luoqiu’s mouth twitched. “That’s impossible, right?”

“Of course, it’s impossible! I was just kidding!”

Yang Zhi Xia raised an eyebrow and gave her a sideways look.

She really took it seriously! It was just a joke!

Luoqiu glanced at her wordlessly.

Did her statement really sound that unbelievable?

She was indeed the heroine.

As the system had stated.
