That same evening, Su Xiaoxiao and Han Cheng had a discussion.

Su Xiaoxiao nestled in Han Cheng’s arms and said, “Han Cheng, why don’t we split our troops into two routes? You go to the capital to report your work, and I’ll take the children back to Sujia Village for the Chinese New Year.”

Since their marriage, apart from the first year when Han Cheng went to the capital for a meeting and separated for a few days, the couple has been inseparable for almost the rest of the time and has long been an important part of each other. Han Cheng is naturally unwilling to part ways for the Chinese New Year.

But Su Xiaoxiao has indeed not seen her family for two years. After careful consideration, Han Cheng decided to respect her opinion: “Okay, I will arrange a two-day vacation in advance and send you back to Sujia Village. Then go directly to the capital. Once I finish the work there, I’ll come back to Su’s village to pick you up.”

Xiao Roubao and Xiao Tangyuan are already sleeping soundly on their own. In fact, they no longer need to get up and drink night milk much after they turn one year old. Han Cheng changed the room across from them to two bedrooms when he had free time. Han Cheng suggested placing their small beds in the opposite bedroom, allowing them to sleep in one room first. After the Chinese New Year, Xiao Roubao and his brothers can sleep in another room, while Xiao Tangyuan can sleep in another room.

Recently, Xiao Tangyuan had a slight cold and cough. Su Xiaoxiao was worried about her infecting Xiao Roubao, so she had him sleep with his older brothers earlier. Xiao Roubao was easygoing and could sleep anywhere. Xiao Doubao happily hugged his little brother, ensuring he slept on the inner side and taking care of him by covering him with a blanket.

Xiao Fantuan didn’t want to squeeze with them, so he slept horizontally at the end of the bed, making the bed seem spacious.

However, after the New Year, they planned to bring in another bed from Zhou Yuhua’s place for Xiao Fantuan to sleep alone. The children were a year older, and there was no place for Xiao Zhuzi to sleep if he wanted to stay overnight.

Su Xiaoxiao was uneasy about Xiao Tangyuan sleeping alone, so she decided to wait until she turned two before considering it. As a result, Xiao Tangyuan continued to sleep in their room.

When the children were younger, the couple was busy taking care of them, leaving little room for marital life. Even when the crib was moved to another corner later on, Su Xiaoxiao still felt a bit burdened.

Tonight, everything fell into place. Han Cheng looked at his charming and lovely wife, kissed her lips, and gasped for breath before letting go. Holding his wife, Han Cheng, with a husky voice, he said, “Let our daughter sleep in the next room tomorrow, hmm?”

Xiao Tangyuan was now much better, rarely waking up at night. Su Xiaoxiao nudged against Han Cheng, who was holding her waist, and whispered, “Hmm.”

Han Cheng kissed his wife’s forehead and rubbed his cheek against hers, saying, “Sleep, let me hold you like this for a while.”

Xiao Fantuan, who ate a lot and had a high level of physical activity, had grown quickly. Standing at the height of Su Xiaoxiao’s shoulders after shedding his baby fat, he was a lively, cheerful, and handsome young boy. Excelling academically despite spending half of his time playing during school hours, he participated enthusiastically in various activities, always striving for the best. With frequent visits to the propaganda department, his name not only resonated throughout the school but also gained recognition in the military district. 

Of course, everyone liked Xiao Zhuzi too, but his personality was more reserved, calmly handling everything without much display, making him stand out in a different way. Nevertheless, no one could ignore him. Together with Xiao Fantuan and Xiao Yu, they formed the school’s iron triangle, gaining significant popularity.

Under the guidance of Su Xiaoxiao and his brothers, five-year-old Xiao Doubao has almost completed the first-grade textbook. His handwriting and drawings are impressive, and his memory is also very good. 

Xiao Doubao’s learning speed is comparable to that of Xiao Fantuan. With his calm personality and the ability to sit still, by September, he went straight to the first grade, undoubtedly becoming a top student.

Xiao Doubao had grown a bit taller, becoming a very handsome young boy. However, his personality remained unchanged—obedient and adorable. The entire family adored him, and even the mischievous Xiao Roubao behaved well in his presence. Xiao Roubao would speak with a lingering tone, “Daddy, I’ll also protect Mommy and my little brother and sister~~”

Su Xiaoxiao picked up the cub into her arms and teased, “Alright, mommy and your little siblings are counting on Xiao Doubao for protection.”

When it comes to the personalities of the cubs, Xiao Doubao and Xiao Tangyuan are most similar to Su Xiaoxiao.

The twins have different personalities, each raised by Su Xiaoxiao. Xiao Roubao, in particular, was taken care of mostly by the soft and adorable Xiao Doubao. However, Xiao Roubao’s personality is not like Xiao Doubao’s at all. 

After he learned to walk and run, he became extremely mischievous. Their family members—Zhou, Fen, Mian, Fan, and Hua Hua at home—all hate him.

Xiao Zhuzi was overjoyed. “Really? Is Uncle Han also going to the capital? Will he travel with us?”

Fantuan disagreed: “Mom, we’re not children anymore; we’re fourth-grade young men!”
