Transmigrated as the Male Lead’s Vicious Ex-Girlfriend Chapter 7

Chapter 7: Secretary Zhang

Lin Zhizhi was very satisfied with Lu Yi’s initiative last night.

However, she also understood that Lu Yi had a naturally cold personality. If they wanted to make further progress in their relationship over the next two months, someone had to take the initiative.

Lin Zhizhi longed for a love where both parties reciprocated their feelings and moved toward each other. Since she already had feelings for Lu Yi and was carrying their baby, she decided to take the initiative herself.

Just as Lin Zhizhi picked up her phone, intending to send a message to Lu Yi to strengthen their bond, an incoming call suddenly appeared on the screen.

She glanced at the caller ID—Secretary Zhang. Her delicate eyebrows furrowed slightly as she suddenly recalled an important plot point in the novel that she had forgotten.

Secretary Zhang had worked alongside the Original Owner’s father for many years. After the Original Owner’s parents passed away, he continued to serve the company diligently.

Many other companies had tried to poach him, but he had never accepted any offers. Yet, in the later part of the novel, this very person leaked critical company secrets to a rival corporation, causing a financial crisis. The opponent then maliciously targeted the company, eventually leading to its bankruptcy.

Originally, the Original Owner had lived extravagantly abroad, accustomed to luxury. However, after suddenly losing her financial support, and with the cost of dance education being much higher than that of an average student, she was forced to return to China.

Upon her return, she discovered that Lu Yi—who once had nothing but good looks—had become the president of a major corporation. She then used their child as leverage to make repeated reckless moves.

In the end, Lu Yi displayed the domineering presence expected of a male protagonist in a romance novel. He forcibly sent the Original Owner back abroad and, to completely crush her, told her that he had actually started his business successfully in the second semester of his freshman year.

When the Original Owner informed him about their child, he had originally intended to marry her and provide a good life for both mother and child. However, before he could say a word, the Original Owner had already cut off all ties and abandoned their child to go abroad.

Now, what mattered most was understanding why Secretary Zhang had betrayed the company. Lin Zhizhi did not believe that Secretary Zhang had been swayed by the lucrative offer from the rival company.

If he had intended to betray the company, he would have done so the year the Original Owner’s parents had their accident.

Shaking her head lightly to clear her thoughts, Lin Zhizhi swiped her finger across the screen and answered the call.

“President Lin, there is a document that requires your personal signature before it can be processed. Are you available to come to the company now?” As soon as the call connected, a serious and businesslike middle-aged male voice came through.

“Uncle Zhang, just call me Zhizhi. I’m available now. I’ll come to the company right away.”

“No way. Business is business; we must not blur the lines. Would you like me to arrange a driver to pick you up?”

“No need. I’ll drive myself.”

“Alright. I’ll make the necessary arrangements to receive you at the company.”

“Alright. Thank you for your hard work.”

Lin Zhizhi quickly put on some makeup, changed into a professional suit with a black pencil skirt, and slipped on a pair of black stiletto heels. Grabbing her handbag, she headed out the door.

Standing in the garage, she casually let her gaze sweep over the row of luxury cars parked side by side. Her eyes finally settled on a sky-blue sports car.

She shifted her handbag from her right shoulder to her left hand, held the car key in her right hand, and walked towards the sports car without pause. Opening the door, closing it, fastening her seatbelt, starting the engine, and stepping on the gas pedal—all in one smooth, fluid motion.

The company building was located in the most bustling district of the city—a place where every inch of land was worth its weight in gold.

The fact that the Lin Corporation had its own dedicated office building serving as its headquarters in such a prime location was a testament to its legacy.

The company had been built from the ground up by the Original Owner’s grandfather. Since Grandpa Lin had only one child, Father Lin.

Father Lin had only Lin Zhizhi, she was the sole legal heir to the Lin Corporation.

At the entrance of the Lin Corporation building, several rows of people dressed in suits were standing in wait. Among them were balding middle-aged men, young elite professionals, and career-oriented women who clearly exuded authority.

At that moment, all of them had their heads tilted upward, frequently glancing toward the entrance.

Meanwhile, ordinary employees passing by occasionally stole glances at their usually busy and rarely-seen top executives. Inwardly, they speculated about which bigshot could be arriving.

Some employees, noticing the puzzled looks of those around them, eagerly shared what they had just learned: moments ago, all department managers received a sudden message instructing them to gather at the company entrance.

Regardless of whether they were in the middle of a meeting or engaged in other tasks, none of them dared to delay even for a second.

As the crowd anxiously awaited the arrival of the mysterious figure, a sky-blue sports car slowly came into view, finally coming to a stop at the company’s entrance.

Everyone watched as the car door slowly opened. The first thing that appeared was a pair of long, slender legs with fair, delicate skin, adorned with sleek black high heels. Then, a woman emerged with long, slightly wavy black hair cascading down her back. Her eyes were as clear as rippling water, her nose elegant, and her eyebrows long and refined. Her fair complexion seemed to glow, and her lips curved into a faint, enigmatic smile.

She wore a light blue blouse tucked neatly into a black pencil skirt, accentuating her slim waist. Her long legs appeared even more slender and graceful, thanks to the ten-inch stiletto heels she wore. The young woman standing before them was undeniably stunning.

She sounded very elegant – until the ten inch stilettos shoes! Don’t think the author thought that through.
