Premarital Cohabitation
Premarital Cohabitation: Chapter 16

Chapter 16: The First Kiss with Dr. Wei.

Wei Nanlin finished his shower, wrapped in a pristine white bathrobe, and came out. I widened my eyes, propped myself up, and watched TV.

Having just showered, his slightly damp hair hung down, and he lacked the usual icy demeanor, instead emanating subtle traces of vitality.

By the way, does a male god snore in his sleep?

I don’t know why, but at this heart-pounding moment, the question that popped into my mind was this.

With this secretive intention in mind, I sneaked into his bed, and the pillowcases had a faint, pleasant fragrance, just like the scent on Dr. Wei.

Why was he standing hesitantly at the door?

“Uh…”

“Uh…”

We both spoke simultaneously.

“You go first.”

“The remote control is on the bedside table. Rest early.” Wei Nanlin’s fingers rested on the switch. “Do you want me to turn off the light?”

“Huh?” I was taken aback. “Aren’t you sleeping here?”

“Do you want me to sleep here?” Wei Nanlin retorted.

This question was a bit awkward. I answered that I neither really wanted nor didn’t want it. While I hesitated, Wei Nanlin turned off the main light and switched on a bedside lamp, then climbed into bed.

“I didn’t tell you to sleep here.” I stubbornly replied.

“Before I entered the room, you already assumed that I would sleep here. That’s why you blurted out that question just now. And if, under the assumption that I would sleep here, you dared to crawl into my bed, it means your brain has already accepted the idea of sharing a bed.”

Indeed, he’s a psychology student; he always has a counter-argument. I couldn’t help but think that if we had disagreements in the future, I wouldn’t stand a chance arguing with him.

“Then why did you ask?” I pouted.

Wei Nanlin lifted the covers and got in. He chuckled, “Just checking if someone is conflicted.”

His words made my cheeks burn, and I pulled the covers around me like a cocoon.

Wei Nanlin looked at me helplessly. “How am I supposed to cover you like this?”

“Hmph, I like sleeping like this in winter.”

“Alright then.” He quickly got out of bed.

I raised my head. “Where are you going?”

“To get another blanket.” Wei Nanlin pulled out a cotton blanket from the top of the wardrobe and tossed it onto the bed, giving it a shake.

A gust of cold air made my neck shiver, and I buried my head further into my cocoon.

Wei Nanlin covered himself with the blanket and lay down on his side. “Are you still watching TV? Should I turn it off?”

“Don’t, don’t, don’t.” I turned around and lay down. “I still have two hours left before my sleeping time. I can’t sleep right now.”

Wei Nanlin handed me the remote control. “Well then, you can turn it off yourself later.”

When I turned my head, he had actually closed his eyes, completely content.

“You’re going to sleep?” I leaned over slightly and asked.

“Yeah, it’s ten o’clock, it’s about time to rest.” He answered without even opening his eyes, showing that he was genuinely brewing sleepiness.

Though I had plenty of questions, it wasn’t the right time to ask if he had any sexual issues, right?

I turned off the TV, lowered the brightness, trying not to disturb his sleep.

After a while, Wei Nanlin suddenly turned over, facing me.

The small night lamp above emitted a warm circle of yellow light.

This was the first time I could examine his face so carefully.

Wei Nanlin had long eyelashes that naturally curled upwards, they were black and dense. There was a faint mole on the tip of his nose. His lips weren’t too thin or too thick. I couldn’t help but reach out and touch them.

So soft.

I thought about the kiss in the parking lot.

I really missed it.

I turned off the shutter sound and took two secret photos. I was about to post them on Weibo when he suddenly opened his eyes.

“What are you doing?”

“Nothing!” I instinctively put away my phone and tucked it into the covers. “Nothing! I’m getting ready to sleep!”

“Okay.” Wei Nanlin kissed my forehead. “Goodnight.”

“Goodnight.”

Wei Nanlin still stared at me without blinking, his lips slightly curved, an expression that seemed like he wanted to say something but was holding back.

“Aren’t you going to sleep? Why are you still looking at me?”

Wei Nanlin smiled. “Did you just touch me?”

“Your imagination.” I averted my gaze, feeling guilty.

“Actually, I wasn’t asleep just now.”

Wei Nanlin’s voice was soft, rustling. I bashfully kicked at the blanket, unsure of what to say.

“So, what’s that mean?”

“Did you want to kiss me just now?” Wei Nanlin asked.

Who’s this straightforward!

I blushed, denying the truth vehemently.

Wei Nanlin was even more straightforward. “Actually, I really wanted to kiss you.”

“Oh.” The first time I encountered this situation, my brain cells seemed to have died out, with no reaction at all.

“Can I kiss you?” Wei Nanlin asked in a very soft voice.

Wei Nanlin, are you really a man?

My inner voice roared, but on the surface, I still had to ask with a pretense, “Did you brush your teeth?”

“I did.” Wei Nanlin answered very seriously!

“Oh, that’s good then…”

In that instant of locking eyes, the world suddenly quieted down. The rhythm of my heartbeat grew faster, a strange electric current swept through my body via my nerves.

I clutched the blanket stiffly, even my breathing slowed down.

His face approached, inch by inch, until there was just a hand’s breadth of distance between us. My vision started to blur.

Then, I caught a faint whiff of shampoo.

Wei Nanlin tilted his head slightly and lightly pecked my lips like a dragonfly touching water.

It happened so quickly that before I could process anything, he had already opened his eyes and returned to his previous state, staring at me with wide open eyes.

I was utterly shocked!

You brushed your teeth and you pulled this off for me???

Did I spend all this time building up my emotions just to accompany you in brushing up this innocent elementary school version of a scenario?

“Can you taste anything?” I asked.

Wei Nanlin shook his head honestly.

My colleague really lived up to his reputation as an experienced person. He was right; at times like this, no man can hold back.

Regardless of the situation, I hooked my arm around his neck and kissed him back.

This time, it was not only tender but also a bit moist and warm.

Wei Nanlin couldn’t hold back anymore either; he pressed his body even closer.

Damn it.

I seriously doubted if he’d ever kissed anyone like this before; he was so busy licking that he didn’t even swallow his saliva, leaving me all wet.

His technique was really terrible.

But what could I do? When it’s someone you’re into, you have to go for it even if you have to kneel down.

After a minute of messy kissing, someone gradually got the hang of it, knowing when to breathe and swallow saliva.

All I could hear was the intermingling of breaths and the ambiguous sound of our kisses.

Honestly, it sounded a bit embarrassing, and my body instinctively started reacting.

He even knew to hold me.

Oh my, where are those hands wandering to!

The moment our lips parted, Wei Nanlin smiled at me. His smile was as sweet and soothing as a big dog’s, making my heart race.

I shifted my legs, trying to snuggle closer. He naturally lifted the covers and pulled me into his arms.

His embrace was warm, his palms were warm and firm, and his body was tightly pressed against mine. Even through the fabric, I could feel his temperature rising steadily.

His soft lips pressed against my forehead in a quiet kiss.

Perhaps because the embrace was too warm, the atmosphere was too cozy, and the blankets were too comfortable, I felt it was a suitable moment to discuss some difficult-to-mention secrets.

“Ge, wanna talk about something trivial?”

“Sure, what do you want to talk about?” He seemed genuinely tired, his voice was low, and it carried a hint of huskiness.

I asked softly, “What do you think of me in various aspects?”

“You’re great.” He spoke like he was holding a plush toy, rubbing my bangs with his chin.

“Then, what do you like about me?”

“Let me tell you like this,” Wei Nanlin’s arms tightened around me a bit more, “I never thought there was anything wrong with living alone before. I had gotten used to it. But ever since I met you, I’ve had so many expectations. I want to wake up and see you every morning, see you after work, send you a couple of messages during lunch break, share all the interesting things with you, and turn you into my little shadow, so I can have you with me wherever I go.”

He’s so good at saying these things!

My heart is about to melt.

But in this moment, my thoughts somehow short-circuited again, and I blurted out three words: “I am too…”

Wei Nanlin kept laughing, his chest rising and falling.

“You can share anything that’s on your mind with me,” I held him and gently scratched his back.

“Yeah, I will.”

I pursed my lips and didn’t ask further.

At first, I wasn’t used to being held while sleeping, but Dr. Wei told me a few bits about preventing and controlling cardiovascular diseases. Unknowingly, I drifted into slumber.

The next morning, when I woke up, Dr. Wei was no longer in bed. Adjusting to the sunlight, I opened my eyes and checked the time.

It was already past nine o’clock, and I suddenly jolted up from bed, realizing it was a day off and I didn’t need to go to work.

There was a message from him on WeChat.

  • I’ve gone to work, breakfast is in the rice cooker, you can handle lunch on your own. If you’re still around later, I’ll make something delicious for you.

I lay in bed and kicked my feet.

Being in love is so great!

I feel like I’m drowning in Dr. Wei’s sweetness.

Below was a video message. I opened it, and it was pitch dark. After three seconds, there came a series of snoring sounds akin to an ambulance.

???

What is this?

It couldn’t be me, right?

Is this a pig slaughtering performance?

Struggling to suppress his laughter in the darkness, Wei Nanlin put the phone close to my nose.

The snoring sounds rose and fell like waves, one higher than the next.

Wei Nanlin attempted to pinch my nose, and I let out a snort, shifted my position, and after a while, continued snoring.

Wei Nanlin laughed so much that he couldn’t hold the phone steady, and it ended up hitting the pillow.

“…”
