Close To You Chapter 96

Thank you very much for the ko-fi, Wuming Wo ♡

When the alarm clock rang, Yu Han rolled over in bed and prepared to get up. He was used to restraint and never stayed in bed. A ray of light came from under the door, which was a light yellow corridor lamp.

Pressing the alarm clock to stop, the round electronic clock jumped from the prompt screen to the current time.

2019.7.14, 08:35, Sunday.

After Yu Han finished washing in the bathroom in his room, he went out and turned to the right. There was a light yellow door with the aroma of food in the air.

He opened the light yellow door, and the light-blocking curtain in the room blocked all the sun. But a small star lamp was turned on the head of the bed, rotating and spreading stars on the ceiling.

A child was lying on the crib with a large orange cat in his arms, sleeping soundly. The cat had already woken up and was lying there wagging its tail. Seeing Yu Han, it stretched and crawled out of its little master’s arms.

The child was awakened, rubbing his eyes and said in a milky voice, “Dad.”

Yu Han pulled up his little quilt and covered his belly, “Sleep a little longer.”

The child’s name was Yu Yuan and his nickname was Taro Ball[1]I decided to go with this name because it’s a homonym for his Yu Yuan name. His name is Yú Yuān [俞渊] while his nickname Yù Yuàn [芋圆] means Taro Ball. This is to also not confuse when … Continue reading. He was well-behaved and cute. Every time Yu Han took him out, he can attract a lot of loving care from women.

It’s just that he doesn’t look much like Yu Han. His whole person was round with round eyes, nose, mouth, and the curvature of the side of his face was comparable to Crayon Shin-chan. He really doesn’t match Yu Han’s handsome features.

Taro Ball closed his eyes, his small arms pulled the bed to look for the cat. Yu Han smoothly stuffed a doll into his arms instead of the old cat. He tuck the quilt twice and quietly exited the room.

When he went to the living room, the aunt with an apron in the kitchen came out with a dish. She prepared sandwiches and orange juice for him but prepared more for Taro Ball.

Favoritism was visible to the naked eye.

Fragrant porridge with rich ingredients, custard buns, sliced fruits, and a bottle of milk.

Yu Han glanced at the hearty breakfast on the table dedicated to Taro Ball and felt that Taro Ball had grown so round that the family aunt had contributed greatly.

Auntie wiped the water droplets from her hand and glanced at Taro Ball’s bedroom, “The little baby hasn’t gotten up yet? I’ll go get him.”

Yu Han didn’t stop the excited aunt. Their aunt loved Taro Ball like a grandson. When he was busy at work, she took care of Taro Ball meticulously, which made him relieved.

It didn’t take long for Taro Ball to come out with a messy watermelon head, being led by his aunt, holding the baby bottle, and starting to suck.

Yu Han looked at his son whose eyes could hardly open, “You’re already three years old, it’s time to wean.”

When Taro Ball saw that someone want to cut off his milk, his confused eyes instantly rounded. He stared vigilantly at Yu Han while holding his baby bottle, grinding his teeth on the bottle’s n!pple, and said vaguely, “No.”

Yu Han discussed to him, “If you don’t stop drinking milk, go learn to draw.”

Taro Ball hummed, “If I draw, I can’t play with my Sister Zhen.”

Yu Han: “Sister Zhen doesn’t have time to play with you, an unweaned child, all day long.”

Taro Ball made a small adult look, “Ai, you don’t understand. Sister Zhen likes me. She’s only five years older than me, I think it’s okay.”

Yu Han laughed, “You can’t. Hurry up and eat breakfast, I’ll take you out later.”

After breakfast, Yu Han let the aunt change Taro Ball’s clothes and went out with Taro Ball in his arms. On his phone was the information on children’s painting institutions that his assistant had collected and sent. There were several of them, all of which were well-known in C City.

Originally, according to Yu Han’s character, he would give priority to the more experienced institutions.

But a new painting institution that hadn’t been opened for a year attracted him because it was called Yu Yuan[2]Another different character used here, Yú Yuán [鱼缘] which literally translates to fish and fate or Fated Fish. I’ll be italicizing this name if it refers to this institution so as to … Continue reading Painting Garden, which sounded quite suitable for Taro Ball.

Sure enough, when he gave the names of several institutions to Taro Ball, Taro Ball kicked his lower leg, “I’m going to my institution! Mine, mine!”

Yu Han had the Big Taro buried in his face. Yu Han still navigated to Yu Yuan Painting Garden in his hand and decided to go there first.

Unfortunately, when they arrived, Yu Yuan was holding an event. Several dolls bounced on the stage, and there were balloons and children everywhere.

Taro Ball wasn’t nervous at all in the face of crowded places. Yu Han originally saw that it was so busy here that he wouldn’t be received, so he planned to leave. However, Taro Ball was making a fuss about going to play.

Because this institution covered a large area, it was big enough to put an inflatable park, full of ocean balls. Taro Ball was full of interest in this paradise.

As soon as he let go of his hand, Taro Ball rushed towards the paradise with his short legs, just like an out-of-control husky.

Yu Han couldn’t leave, so he stood not far away to watch Taro Ball. It was very hot outside in July, and he was sweating a little in his shirt.

Thinking of the unlucky child in his heart, he was poked on the shirt.

Yu Han turned his head and was greeted by a large rabbit head which startled him. Although he was frightened, his face didn’t move.

This should be the staff of Yu Yuan playing a rabbit with a string of children behind his tail, pulling the round tail of the mascot.

The rabbit beckoned at him, trying to lure him inside to sit. Somehow, this staff member refused to make a sound and signaled with large body gestures.

Yu Han still understood. He smiled lightly and politely refused, “No, my child is playing there. I have to watch.”

The rabbit was as quiet as being frozen for a long time until a child jumped into his arms and giggled. The rabbit picked up the child and left. Yu Han didn’t care either.

After a while, his shirt was poked again. He turned his head and saw the same rabbit head carrying a carrot bag this time.

The zipper was open, and the rabbit dug things out of it like an umbrella, iced water, and a small fan.

Yu Han was dumbfounded. After receiving all of them, he thought to himself that this institution was quite good at what it does.

It can be seen that he was a parent who hadn’t enrolled and he was coming to learn about it, so he specifically entertained him. The parents around him didn’t have this treatment, but they were also quite attentive to the rabbit.

The rabbit’s thick paws were digging inside the carrot bag. Yu Han smoothly pulled out the gloves for him. The rabbit’s white hands were exposed to the air. As if at a loss, the rabbit’s fingers trembled a few times.

The fingers were long and slender, and the pulp of the finger was dyed pink. It can be seen that it belonged to a male hand. One can imagine that when this hand writes or draws, the result will be very good.

Yu Han politely said, “Sorry. Seeing that it’s inconvenient for you to take things with your gloves, I took them off for you.”

The rabbit waved his hand, indicating that it was fine. Finally, he pulled out what he wanted, a candy or rather, a milk candy, which he put in his palm and handed to Yu Han.

Unfortunately, the man in front of the rabbit took all the previous things, but he didn’t want the milk candy. “No need, I don’t eat candy.”

The rabbit stretched out his hand again, coaxing him to eat the candy. Yu Han frowned slightly and said politely, “I’m lactose intolerant, sorry.”

The rejected rabbit looked quite lost. Heaven knows how he could see the loss from a doll’s headgear, and he felt his ears drooping.

The rabbit put the candy back in his bag and asked for his gloves back. He didn’t leave, he ran to the side of the flowerbed and sat down as he played with balloons. He built long strips of balloons and twisted them into various shapes to give to the children.

Yu Han has an umbrella and a fan, he was indeed much more comfortable. Seeing this hot day again, the rabbit was wore something thick. He didn’t know if he would have heatstroke.

The thought just flashed through his mind when he saw the rabbit, who twisted balloons into a flower, stood up and walked towards him. He shook for a while and almost fell.

Yu Han had just been taken care of by the other party, so how could he ignore it? He walked up and held the rabbit’s arm, “Sir, are you okay? Perhaps, you should go inside and sit down.”

The rabbit nodded, giving him the flowers, and pointed the way.

Yu Han looked back at Husky Taro Ball with difficulty, only to see that the child had already hung out with a little sister and was having a lot of fun.

As if he could see the inconvenience, the rabbit pushed his hand away and shook his head. He raised his finger in the direction of the paradise, letting him still look after the child.

Then he stumbled away with a rather lonely back.

Yu Han watched him leave and went to catch Taro Ball again. The little rascal played in the heat of the day with a red face, covered in sweat. Yu Han said to him, “Your clothes are wet. Don’t cry to me if you have a fever in the evening.”

Taro Ball wasn’t happy that Yu Han said it in front of the little sister, so he stuck out his neck and said, “When you have a fever, don’t cry with me in your arms! You kept calling Yuanyuan[3]Note, from his Taro Ball name, not LLY, okk? or.. who knows.. jk XD! Shame on you!”

Yu Han was humiliated by the little devil in public, but he wasn’t angry.  He just directly held the child out and didn’t let him play with the little sister. Taro Ball’s mouth was pouting enough to hang an oil bottle. He was unwillingly taken away by Yu Han.

Yu Han coaxed him, “If you learn how to draw, there will be many children playing with you.”

Taro Ball hesitated for a while between Sister Zhen and many children, and finally, he chose many children. After all, there is only one Sister Zhen and there are many, many little sisters here ah.

Yu Han took the person and finally found a female teacher who wasn’t dressed as a doll, explaining their intentions.

The female teacher looked young and enthusiastic, so she showed them around and even showed them the kitchen.

The kitchen was separated by a glass door, and the chef inside can be seen as busy.

The female teacher’s name was Xiao Xiong. Xiao Xiong said that their institution has classes in the evening, and considering that the children get hungry quickly, they still have meals between classes.

The meals go through professional nutritionists, the ingredients were fresh, and the kitchen environment was clean. Some parents weren’t worried about the food provided by the Garden. So they can also understand it, the kitchen was visible, and the production process was completely transparent.

After seeing the kitchen, they went to the classroom again. The decoration style was warm, the wall paintings were beautiful, and the student desks were adorable. The teaching materials were issued by the U.S. headquarters, and the courses followed the teaching materials.

Yu Han understood most of it, and he thought it was good.

Xiao Xiong bent over and asked Taro Ball, “How old are you?”

Taro Ball made an ‘ok’ gesture, “Three years old!”

Xiao Xiong stood up and hesitated, “Mr. Yu, your child is too young, so he basically needs to be accompanied by a parent in class. Do you think after you go back, you can discuss this with your wife to see if you can choose someone to accompany your child to class?”

Yu Han said, “His mother is not here anymore.”

Xiao Xiong apologized in embarrassment and Yu Han said it was fine. Xiao Xiong said, “Then I will take you to see the head of the Garden, but I don’t know if the Dean is there at this time.”

Xiao Xiong led them to the Dean’s office and pushed the door. Inside, a boy with his back to them, wearing a drenched shirt, sat in front of the fan.

The boy was still wearing a rabbit suit on his lower body with his round tail hanging from his waist. His hair was disheveled and the bunny headgear was placed on one side.

Xiao Xiong said in a loud voice, “Dean, Mr. Yu came to enroll his child.”

The Dean stiffened, not even daring to turn around.

Yu Han stood in the doorway and narrowed his eyes to seize up the Dean of the Garden. The rabbit headgear was off, his white shirt was glued on his back, narrowing his waistline. His shoulders were flushed with pink, and a blue live fresh fish was on his shoulder blade. On his shoulder blade, the water splashed everywhere with exceptional colors.

Xiao Xiong said doubtfully, “Dean?”

The Dean was holding a cold Coke in his hand and turned his head a little. From his earlobe to his sharp chin, long eyelashes, and moist eyes, he seemed to have fallen out of Yu Han’s dream and was now in reality.

Luo Lin Yuan blinked slowly and finally looked at the person at the door, not daring to speak.

Xiao Xiong felt that the atmosphere in the office wasn’t right. Mr. Yu behind her spoke first, his voice was much lower than just now, “Dean Luo, it’s been a long time.”

They looked at each other, their eyes entangled for a long time. It was Luo Lin Yuan who avoided his gaze first, lowered his eyelashes, and bit his lips.

It has indeed been a long time, a full seven years.
