Hua Nan and Hua Ling followed Shen Yu’an as they left, carrying not only some clothes but also various bottles and jars.
Originally, they wanted to bring food, but Shen Yu’an was afraid they would bring a bunch of edible insects along the way, so she didn’t let them.
Besides, they already had some food themselves.
Hua Ji and Hua Yun, upon hearing this, added some silver coins to Shen Yu’an.
When Shen Yu’an and the other people returned to the vicinity of the hole they fell into the previous day, they indeed saw the Shen family waiting there.
Shen Erlang excitedly shouted from afar, “Father, mother, we’re back!”
Zhao Shi grabbed Shen Ming, who was sitting beside her, with an incredulous expression on her face and said, “I think I heard Erlang’s voice.”
Shen Ming also said, “I think I heard it too.”
Everyone looked around.
Shen Silang got up from the ground and happily shouted, “It’s Second Brother and Sister, they’re back!”
The Shen family stood up, and sure enough, they saw Shen Yu’an and the others walking towards them from a distance.
Shen Yu’an raised a smiling face and shouted as well, and everyone crowded around, asking questions all at once.
Song Shi pulled Shen Yu’an in front of her and asked, “What happened? Why did it take so long for you to come back?”
Grandma Shen also spoke up and asked, “Did you encounter any danger?”
Shen Yu’an knew they must have been very worried, so she answered one by one, “We encountered a little trouble, but there was no danger.”
Zhao Shi scan Shen Erlang up and down, and after seeing that he was unharmed, she gratefully looked at Shen Yu’an and Fei Yanchen.
“Thanks to both of you, otherwise this reckless kid wouldn’t know where he would end up,” she said.
Shen Yu’an smiled and said, “Auntie, you’re exaggerating. We’re all family, and I couldn’t possibly leave Second Brother behind.”
Shen’s grandmother happily added, “An’an is right.”
After they had shown concern for all three of them, everyone noticed that there were two children of the same age as Shen Sanlang and Shen Silang who had returned with them.
Moreover, those two people were adorned with a lot of accessories, and they even had silver jewelry on them!
Oh my, these must be solid ones, worth quite a bit of money just by looking at them.
Everyone looked at Hua Nan and Hua Ling’s accessories in shock, amazed by their value.
Grandma Shen looked at these delicately beautiful little dolls and then glanced at Shen Yu’an.
She asked, “Who are these two? How did they come back with you?”
Shen Yu’an didn’t elaborate much on Hua Nan and Hua Ling’s identities. After all, the more their identities were revealed, the more dangerous it could be for them.
He explained, “Grandmother, this is Hua Nan, the older brother, and this is Hua Ling, the younger sister.”
“Second Brother is the one they’re family with. They wanted to accompany us on the journey outside, so I brought them along,” Shen Yu’an explained.
In front of so many unfamiliar faces, Hua Nan felt a bit uneasy.
On the other hand, Hua Ling was completely fearless and turned this place into a large-scale family reunion.
As soon as she heard Shen Yu’an calling grandma Shen by their titles, she memorized it in her heart.
With a sweet voice, she called out everyone’s names, even asking Shen Yu’an about those she didn’t recognize.
Then, she proceeded to shower Shen’s family with compliments, leaving them all speechless.
Grandma Shen happily patted Hua Ling’s arm and said, “You, my child, speak the absolute truth.”
“You will follow us from now on, and Grandmother will definitely treat you as her own granddaughter,” Grandma Shen said.
Shen Yu’an: “…” I didn’t expect Grandmother to be like this.
As Shen Yu’an listened to these words, she realized that Grandma Shen had already said them countless times throughout the journey.
She never expected that on this trip, Grandmother would end up acknowledging so many “grandsons” and “granddaughters.”
Shen Sanlang looked at the box that Shen Erlang had been holding since their return and curiously asked, “Second Brother, what’s in the box you’re holding?”
“Well…” Shen Erlang suddenly didn’t know how to explain because the box of silver was actually given to sister An’an by their(Hua Nan and Hua Ling) parents.
If he were to directly say it, what if everyone feels that they should also have a share of this silver?
Shen Yu’an thought about it more than Shen Erlang.
She never intended to keep this silver for herself.
Although Hua Nan and Hua Ling claimed to be following her, they were ultimately part of the entire team.
Even with the best of friendships, if the interests are unclear, there will surely be doubts in one’s heart.
She took the box from Shen Erlang’s hand, and upon opening it, she found it filled with silver.
She said, “This was given by Uncle Hua and Aunt Hua. They said it’s for us to take care of them on the journey.”
“They are following our team, so naturally, this silver should be shared among everyone,” Shen Yu’an said as she was about to distribute the silver on the spot.
Apart from the members of the Shen family, the only outsiders present were Fei Yanchen, Ji Xun, Song Xiao Ni, and the Bai father and daughter.
Although Zhao Shi was also tempted by the box of silver, she considered it as belonging to the Shen family since it was in Shen Yu’an’s possession. Even if she liked the silver, she wouldn’t blur the lines in this situation.
As for Fei Yanchen, Ji Xun, and the Bai siblings, they wouldn’t even think of accepting it. They had already caused enough trouble for the Shen family on this journey; how could they take this money?
Everyone rejected the offer, leaving Shen Yu’an no choice but to hold onto the box and say helplessly, “Then I’ll keep it for now and distribute it to everyone when we reach our destination.”
It was still early, not even noon yet, and they had already delayed their journey by two days. They decided to hurry on their way.
